Writing inspired by ordinary objects: a recharging cable
I look at the recharging cable with a bit of amusement. It is such a major part of our lives in this modern technological world! Using it is now a routine. I now charge phones, power banks and the computer every night. When we have a power cut and things were not charged, our lives are in disarray. We are behind on communication with the rest of the world. Heaven forbid that we could talk to one another directly and meaningfully!
It makes me wonder why I do not allow myself the same consistent treatment. Should I not allow myself to be plugged in and recharged once my own emotional and spiritual batteries have worn down because of the day’s use? I need to remind myself to spend more regular time with my power sources, our precious Lord and Savior. He is the one I draw strength from. I rejoice in knowing that I do not have to live my life on this earth in my own strength. If my phones need charging daily, so do I! If life is in disarray because I wasn’t recharged – how much more do I need Him?
I need thee every hour Lord
How I need thee!
